When a new teacher goes into the classroom they are not much older than the children they are there to teach. They have no experience outside of the classroom, if you are lucky they will have had a 'year off' and travelled. But they are still adolescents. They do not have the maturity or the experience that a few years in the real world would give them.
All prospective teachers should work in a job for at least three years outside of the school/college/university environment before being allowed anywhere near a classroom.
If you doubt this just look at the situation they have in North America right now....
The upside of such a policy would be many prospective teachers would maybe choose a different career and this would reduce the amount of bad teachers out there.
